Approximate travel times: Edinburgh & Glasgow - 3hrs, Cairnryan - 5 hrs, Manchester - 6hrs 30mins

Suggested routes from the south:
From London and the Western side of England take the M6 past Carlisle to A74 (continuation of M6); A74 towards Glasgow (becomes M74); M74 (heading towards STIRLING); M73 via Kirkintilloch to A80; A80 past Cumbernauld to M80 (STIRLING); M80 towards STIRLING (becomes M9); M9 towards PERTH (becomes A9)

From the east side of England take the A1 north to Edinburgh, then follow the Edinburgh by-pass, to the Fort Road Bridge and the M90 north to Perth

From Perth A9 north towards INVERNESS
Turn off at turning after AVIEMORE
At end of slip road turn left (North) on A95
After 2 miles A95 bears right at new junction
turn left for Carrbridge
Go straight ahead on B9153 to CARRBRIDGE

PLEASE TAKE CARE The A9 is a very fast road with sporadic traffic and no towns to go through. It is not a motorway and there are turnings onto the road without accelerating lanes. When tired it is easy to be unaware that the road has changed from dual carriage way to two way traffic. Police cameras and speed traps are in constant use.
