Carrbridge is a small but lively community where there is always plenty going on to interest both local residents and visiting tourists alike. The village hosts a regular touring performance programme with everything from traditional, classical and contemporary music to professional theatre and dance. The thriving cultural scene includes a variety of other arts and crafts activities plus local sports and international competition, festivals, workshops and ceilidhs. There is also a whole host of events and activities organised by the various groups and organisations within the village from the annual duck race to the annual World Porridge Making Championships.

Following the huge success of last year's annual Carrbridge Live Festival, this year's event takes a new twist with an innovative and exciting programme providing an eclectic combination of comedy, the best of traditional music and international street artist performance.
Popular stand up comedian Bruce Fummey will be taking the stage with his own brand of historical humour hot from a fourth successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
The Young Trad Tour 2008 provides a showcase concert with the cream of the new generation of Scottish musicians featuring the five finalists of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award.
And although there is no street carnival this year, the programme takes yet another turn with
"Let's...Circus" with a colourful showcase of international street artist performers featuring the famous Balloonatic, voted as one of best and funniest acts to appear on the popular TV series, Britain's Got Talent.

Cairngorms Farmers Market, pipeband parade of judges and competitors, the official Toast to the Porridge, live music, product tastings and street entertainment.

Right Lines in association with Mull Theatre presents a long-awaited revival of the legendary comedy ceilidh mystery, The Accidental Death of an Accordionist.
The Red Squirrel Conservation Officer for the Highlands, Juliet Robinson will talk about red
squirrel conservation, survey techniques particularly in relation to Lochaber. There will also
be a short film and there will be a questions/answer session at the end. Eleanor Garty,
Woodland Trust officer, will talk about ancient woodlands in the Highlands
The Puppet Animation Festival 2008 sees Edinburgh's Puppet State Theatre Company present a magical, comical, multi-sensory adaptation of Jean Giono's well-loved story. Accompanied by his faithful dog, a French shepherd sets out to plant a forest and revive a barren and desolate landscape. Hear the wind, feel the rain and smell the lavender growing on the mountainside in this memorable blend of pupperty and inspired storytelling. Hilarious, yet profound this wonderful parable of life tells the tale of a man who saw a need and decided not to ignore it but to "put things right".
Some of opera’s freshest talent sees four young and dynamic singers taking to the stage to provide a mixture of musical styles including old favourites from Carmen, La traviata and Rigoletto as well as music by Britten, Mozart and Bernstein.
