WHAT'S ON
Carrbridge
is a small but lively community where there is always plenty going on to
interest both local residents and visiting tourists alike. The village hosts
a regular touring performance programme with everything from traditional,
classical and contemporary music to professional theatre and dance. The thriving
cultural scene includes a variety of other arts and crafts activities plus
local sports and international competition, festivals, workshops and ceilidhs.
There is also a whole host of events and activities organised by the various
groups and organisations within the village from the annual duck race to
the annual World Porridge Making Championships.

A showcase festival providing an eclectic combination of traditional
music, spectacular street carnival and jazz.The programme also includes
music workshops, a guided walk and mountain bike tour to places of local
historical interest as well as a golf competition and shinty tournament.

- GAELIC LEARNERS DAY IN CARRBRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
A Gaelic learners day will be held in the Carrbridge Primary School on Saturday 4th November between 9.30am – 3.30pm
There will be classes for students at beginner and intermediate level and tuition will be provided by Pàdraig Moireach and Moira Webster.
The Gaelic Learners Day has been organised by Gaelic community group 'Sinne' with support from the Highland Council

The annual World Porridge Making Championships is followed with interest by connoisseurs of the traditional national dish across the globe. Also incorporating the Carrbridge Challange 5km, 3km and minis fun run. Stalls, product tastings, live music and street entertainment etc.

Coming to Carrbridge direct from the Edinburgh Fringe, this New York based band has a growing following and world wide reputation for their ecstatic live performances and infectious onstage energy. Their music crosses many genre boundaries to encompass Romanian gypsy melodies, punk frenzy, salty tangos, hard rocking klezmer, haunting Balkan harmony, hip-hop beats and Appalachian fiddle; all eaten and spit out by a line up of violins resophonic guitar, bullhorn harmonica and Mexican guitarron.

The ever-popular actor/ storyteller, Mike Maran presents Novecento. The transatlantic liner buzzes with rumours of an extraordinary pianist.They say he was born on the ship and never once disembarked but no-one knows why. One of the ship’s engineers, found the baby in a box on top of the piano in the first class ballroom on the first day of the last century. He named the boy, Novecento (Nineteen Hundred), and he grew up to become the pianist on the ship and those who heard his music say he was the finest pianist who ever lived. Is it true that he never once set foot off the ship?
